Gin Rummy is by far the most popular rummy card game in the USA. The rummy family of games is collectively the most played card game here. It is also played and popular in some other countries around the globe.

Collect sets of three or more cards that “work together”. These matching collections of cards are called melds. These either have to be of the same rank, like all eights, or forming a sequence of the same suit – like 7,8,9 of diamonds. When finished, “deadwood” are the cards that are left in a player’s hand that are not in those collections. You lose the the sum of their values. Players try to discard unwanted cards and collect cards that could form melds.
